PAST LIVES FICTION WORKSHOP Saturday, 22nd August, 2009 10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.
This day workshop uses either your own memories or local folk tales, (material supplied) to inspire spine tingling page turners through a series of exercises, readings and discussions. The emphasis will be on fictionalising historical characters and events to help you produce competition winning fiction through a series of exercises, discussions and readings of your own work. By the end of the day you should be well on the way to creating an awarding winning short story! Don’t worry if you’ve never written fiction before, Past Lives Fiction Workshop is suitable for adults of all abilities.
All you need to join us are writing materials and bags of enthusiasm!

About our workshop leader
Past Lives will be led by Sue Kendrick, a freelance writer who writes regularly for special and general interest magazines and also the business sector. She also writes fiction, song lyrics and some poetry. Her stories have been published in anthologies, won prizes and short listed in many open competitions. Her most recent non-fiction projects have been The Aristocratic Neck, a fictionalised account of the trial and execution of Earl Ferrers for the murder of his steward. Sleet, Shoots & Leaves, a collection of poems and photographs celebrating the National Forest and The Killing Tree, a novelette written in a day! All were collaborative projects supported by Ashby Arts Festival. She also runs www.writelink.co.uk a creative writers community with a world wide membership.
